I came to attend performances at the Kennedy Centre so the hotel's location was excellent.
Room 207 (if I recall correctly) needs some maintenance. The small mirror is falling off the bathhroom wall as is the soap dish over the bath tub. The kitchen needs a cutting board and a kettle for we foreign tea drinkers. Appreciated the coffee beans and the grinder.
Very convenient location in order to explore city. Friendly and helpful staff - very comfortable accomodation.
We loved the location, we wallked everywhere. Staff very pleasant.
Had problems with TV, but not a big deal.
The room was large and comfortable. We felt very relaxed and there was no outside noise. The hotel is well situated for public transport and for walking. It is a lovely old district. We slept well!
We needed to use the internet and the connection was incredibly slow. It turned out the next morning that the hotel had been experiencing poor connections for a few days. It would have been good to have been told this when we arrived. We needed a good connection and if we had known we could have gone out to one of their other hotels or to a cafe to do the business we needed to do. As it turns out we missed an opportunity that was quite important to us.
It was great for us - close to GWU and the Metro. It was as central as we could be for our needs. Whenever we return to DC, we will probably book at "River Inn
Staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Internet was fast and problem free (and free!). Rooms have a superb kitchen that enable cooking meals if desired. Location was perfect - close to subway, Georgetown. Rooms were immaculate, comfortable, luxurious beds. Parking on site - not cheap but that is DC - and very convenient. I would highly recommend it.
I liked the location, near George Washington University, near Georgetown, near museums, near good places to eat.
The elevator repair was a problem. One elevator is not adequate for the whole hotel.
Good location, quiet, and literally less than 5 minutes walk to subway station (gwu). Restaurants and grocery stores are just around corner. Staff are very friendly. Room is clean, the kitchen in the room is a real bonus, very handy especially for the guests with babies/kids.
Kind of pricy and breakfast is not included. Parking is not free for guests, which costs 38 dollars per day.
Having the kitchen and nearby store for supplies
Restaurant room service was too pricey
The room was comfortable and good location near the subway.
The room was comfortable but old and I did not feel welcome... From the reception desk till all the messages inside the room about charges and so on... I would sugest a renew related to its general administration politics related to a good relationship to the clients.
The helpful staff, especially Brittany! The location was good, close to Georgetown which is good for shopping and eating out. The metro is very close by.
The staff is outstanding! The restaurant was quite good and convenient. The Metro was with in two blocks. Even though they are going through a fairly major renovation, it was barely noticeable. I would highly recommend. Having a small kitchen was a real plus.
The River Inn was as enjoyable as ever, despite only one elevator in action and renovation work going on in the hotel. The staff are a priceless asset - I do hope they are rewarded for their tireless efforts at making everyone feel welcome. I cannot fault the hotel in any regard. It is a home from home.
The entire staff was top rate. All seemed to be interested in the comfort of the guests. All were pleasant, accommodating, and all anticipated my every need. Never did I hear "no."
